Community Involvement

On November 9th Southern Methodist University (SMU) recognized T-System, Inc. during the 40th anniversary celebration of its Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department.

In honor of this milestone and the outstanding contributions made, distinguished alumni and three companies were acknowledged during the dinner. T-System’s co-founder, Robert Langdon, MD, joined representatives from Texas Instruments and Raytheon to receive awards for their support of the department and university.

The event was held at SMU’s Hughes-Trigg Ballroom and hosted by the department chair, Hesham El-Rewini, Ph.D., and the Dean of the School of Engineering, Geoffrey C. Orsak, Ph.D..

T-System has partnered with the SMU CSE over the last 7 years including funding a scholarship in bio-informatics, providing financial awards to student competitions, participating in industry/academic collaborations and offering board leadership to the CSE Industry Advisory Board.

SMU’s Computer Science and Engineering Department is doing important work in areas of computer science that are now and will be in the future applied to advancing that mission.
