Kadlec Medical Center of Richland, Washington has contracted with
T-System Technologies, Ltd. to implement
T-SystemEV,
T-System's emergency department information system, including electronic charting, tracking and laboratory retrieval system, in its emergency department.
"We want to move into the 21st century," said Gregory Brown, M.D., FACEP, Medical Director of the emergency department. Physicians and nurses have been charting with
T-System's paper templates for five years. Calling
T-SystemEV a "revolution," Brown said he and his staff believe that technology has reached a point where their emergency department can reap more benefits from an electronic system.
The recently renovated emergency department at Kadlec Medical Center offers 20 private rooms, Fast Track care and other innovate services to more than 37,000 patients per year.
Kadlec Medical Center is the largest healthcare facility in the Tri-Cities area of southeastern Washington and Northeastern Oregon. Opened in 1944, it is now a 153-bed non-profit acute care facility, serving all specialties. Kadlec Medical Center also serves as a training center for a collegiate nursing program in concert with Washington State University and Columbia Basin College.
